Comet’s patented Sensi-Dry weigh dryer reduces scrap and improves drying quality by providing operators with the greatest control in determining material usage and residence time. The drying hopper is mounted onto load cells capable of sensing the weight of the drying hopper and its contents. The feed rate into the drying hopper is controlled, material does not stay in the hopper for extended periods, thus avoiding resin material degradation.	(Back to Product Page)
The Allen-Bradley controller periodically polls the load cells for weight information. Based on its calculation, the controller determines the rate at which material is being removed from the drying hopper and adjusts the residence time of the dried material.
