Patented ERD Compressed Air Dryers - ERD Micro
Comet’s ERD Micro uses dehumidified compressed air from the plant’s air system for the drying process. Many plastic resins, depending on their configuration, absorb humidity from ambient air. Humidity absorbed by resin, or found on the surface of pellets, causes production problems. Moist resins have many different negative effects, e.g. processing failure, surface defects, or loss of mechanical properties.

The best drying results are achieved, when process air dewpoints are very low. When pre-dried compressed air is expanded to atmospheric pressure, the dewpoint sinks to a low level. Subsequent heating of the process air reduces the relative humidity.
